I heard this a few months back,
' Earlier, when we were asked to buy few things, we would forget one or two on the list. But now the super-stores open up all their stuff for us in attractive display counters. So, we end up buying more than what we wanted to in the first place'
That's so true.
According to a major retailer the chances of a person wanting to buy only a loaf of bread and coming out of the store with ONLY that, is like one in a billion.
I thought I was immune to this consumerist culture because I am quite thrifty and don't use credit cards. But I have, quite a few times 'bought stuff that I really didn't need or use'. Must be careful the next time:)
