What is this deal with money, I will never fully understand. What power is there in it that can make or break a relationship? There is a saying in Kannada that money can separate a mother and child, a bond that is supposed to be unbroken.
Brothers fighting over property is almost the norm.

One can read in the newspapers regularly about robberies, con jobs, thefts and burglaries. Yesterday I read that 4 teenagers in the city killed a watchman of a temple and looted with Rs.5000 cash and some silver jewellery. Then there was this woman who was murdered in her home when alone and the thieves made away with Rs.10 lacs worth. The worst piece of news I have heard so far is about a young man who killed his mother for Rs.50.

Then there are frauds, embezzlements, cheating, bribery and whatnot.

The desire for land, gold and money is so inborn in almost all of us. If not checked, greed can overcome anyone, I guess. It just happens at various levels. From a few rupees to a billion dollars.
